Delta's careers portal runs on Avature underneath, and the EEO page surfaces a piece of pay philosophy that most airlines hide. After sampling 7 postings this week across maintenance, cargo, ACS, and pricing, three things stood out.
- Delta's careers portal is Avature underneath — your applicant account lives in Avature, not Delta-branded.Visiting jobs.aa-style URLs doesn't apply to Delta — the actual portal is delta.avature.net/en_US/careers/SearchJobs. Apply Now links use Avature ApplicationMethods with source=Delta+Career+Site in the URL. Delta.com showed a maintenance warning at the careers overview ("the careers site was undergoing maintenance"). So if you've applied to Delta and want to return to your candidate profile, navigate to the Avature URL, not Delta.com.
- Delta's EEO page publishes the pay philosophy openly — frontline hourly tops out at year 6-12, with local minimum wage overrides.The EEO page (delta.avature.net/en_US/careers/EEO) explicitly described frontline hourly rates by pay scale, top of scale reached at year 6-12, local minimum wage overrides when higher than Delta rates, and noted internal pay scales are posted on Deltanet for current employees. So Delta's hourly career math is published — you can estimate maximum earning power at a given role by adding 6-12 years to the starting scale. Most airlines don't publish this openly.
- Aircraft Support Mechanic in Salt Lake City explicitly said A&P certification was preferred but NOT required.The ASM SLC posting at $26.74/hr (entry-level under AMTs) said A&P (Airframe & Powerplant FAA license) was preferred but not required. That's unusual — most airline maintenance entry points name A&P as a hard requirement. So Delta has at least one TechOps role open to applicants who don't have the cert yet. AMT San Francisco at $47.22/hr and AMT Minneapolis at $43.47/hr both showed pay too; ACS Safety in Amsterdam and Pricing Analyst for Caribbean did not.
One caveat I'd flag:The Cargo Control Specialist ATL posting included an "Internal Movement Eligibility" note for current Delta employees (must meet Internal Mobility Policy, Residency Policy, good standing, performance, tenure).
